Flashrip's Fables

Following the meandering path of my pursuit of a few running goals.Running was meant to be a 2 year plan to learn a new skill but a few injuries has forced me to extend the 2 year plan.

When Intermittent Pain Is Good

Pain from an injury is a strange thing when you take heart in the fact that it is no longer constant. When it was constant I used to get used to it and wouldn't feel it unless I did something unusual like running. Now I notice it when I get out of bed, out of the car, swim etc.In other words , I'm happier despite the fact that I am noticing it more.
Tomorrow sees my 2nd visit to Valerie the physio.I feel like I haven't improved more than 2 0r 3 % in the last week so my hope of her telling me to start running is just ludicrous.
The swimming I did last week hurt every time I swivelled to take a breath.
Outside of my running world I am a pharmacist.Business is very good despite the fact we have a discount pharmacy operation about 9 doors down the road.As the textbooks say, we have looked for a niche market (feckin textbooks don't tell us how to find this 'niche')and found it with a weight loss program. Thanks to Today Tonight TV coverage last year we have been going gangbusters with this niche for almost 2 years now.
But I want to be running.
